Small Caps & Tiny Text
Make text ᴛɪɴʏ: sᴍᴀʟʟ ᴄᴀᴘs, ˢᵘᵖᵉʳˢᶜʳⁱᵖᵗ and ₛᵤbₛcᵣᵢₚₜ letters you can paste anywhere.
Three ways to make small text
- Small caps (ᴀʙᴄ) – uses letters from the International Phonetic Alphabet. Almost every device supports them; “q” uses ǫ and “x” stays a normal x.
- Superscript (ᵃᵇᶜ) – raised tiny letters. Unicode has no superscript “q”, so we substitute ᑫ, and a few capitals fall back to lowercase.
- Subscript (ₐₑₒ) – Unicode only has about a third of the alphabet as subscripts; letters without a subscript form stay normal size.
Superscript and subscript sets are incomplete in Unicode, so mixed sizes are expected. Small caps give the most consistent result.
Ideas
Use small caps for a calm, minimal bio line (ᴀʀᴛɪsᴛ · ᴅʀᴇᴀᴍᴇʀ), superscript for “footnote” jokes (ᵗʰᵃᵗ'ˢ ʷʰᵃᵗ ˢʰᵉ ˢᵃⁱᵈ) and subscripts for chemistry like H₂O or CO₂.
Frequently asked questions
Why are some tiny letters normal size?
Unicode does not include a superscript or subscript version of every letter, so those letters are left unchanged.
Is small caps text readable by screen readers?
Usually partly – small capitals are phonetic letters and some screen readers pronounce them strangely. Keep key info in plain text.
Can I write H₂O with this?
Yes – digits have complete subscript and superscript sets: ₀₁₂₃₄₅₆₇₈₉ and ⁰¹²³⁴⁵⁶⁷⁸⁹.
Does small text work in Free Fire or PUBG names?
Small caps often work; superscripts are hit-and-miss in game fonts. Test in the game before spending a rename card.
