How flipping works
There is no “rotate” in plain text. Instead we replace each letter with a Unicode character that looks like it rotated 180° (a → ɐ, e → ǝ, h → ɥ, t → ʇ…) and then reverse the order so it reads correctly when the phone is turned upside down.

A few flipped capitals (Ꞟ, ⅁, Ꞁ) come from newer Unicode blocks and may not appear on very old devices. Lowercase letters are the most reliable.

Can I flip text back to normal?
Yes – paste flipped text into the box and the upside-down style will flip it back for most letters.
Does upside down text work on WhatsApp?
Yes. It is ordinary Unicode text and displays on Android, iPhone and WhatsApp Web.
What is the difference between reversed and upside down?
Reversed text only changes the order (olleh). Upside-down text also swaps letters for rotated look-alikes.
Are numbers flipped?
Yes, digits are mapped to approximate upside-down shapes.
